Prisoner of WarThis is a featured page

Along with the other Allied Servicemen held for a brief time in the shed, John Harder was eventually moved into a PoW camp within German-held territory; in his case Stalag Luft 3.

He maintained a diary whilst he was held as a PoW which will be posted here (once I've typed it out!) and also the letters that he wrote home from the camp are shown on the letters home page. In addition, during the march from Stalag Luft 3 away from th eadvancing Russian armies he swapped his watch for some chocolate... the full tale of this is told on the John Harder's watch page.
